🆕 New Arrival — L191 Royal Pleco (Panaque sp.) XL | 7-Day Auction

This one just cleared quarantine from a fresh direct import — a single XL specimen of the L191 Royal Pleco, wild-caught from the Rio Caguán basin, Colombia.

At 40–50 cm potential size, this is unambiguously a centrepiece fish. The reticulated patterning on these Colombian specimens is exceptional: pale network lines over a deep grey-black base, with the broad, flattened head profile that makes Panaque instantly recognisable.

A few things worth knowing before you bid:

• Minimum tank: 6 ft footprint, 680+ litres. These fish are powerful and produce considerable waste — oversized filtration is non-negotiable. • Driftwood is a dietary requirement, not decor. A xylivorous species; it actively rasps and digests wood fibre. • Compatible with similarly-sized robust tankmates, but give it its own territory — a large flat cave or angled piece of bogwood it can claim. • Temp: 24–28°C | pH: 6.5–7.2 | Soft-moderate water.
